As hard as it is to believe, we celebrated the 3rd anniversary of our Incorporation in the Commonwealth of Virginia on May 17th!! Sincere thanks to our initial Board of Directors, Jill Watson Shelby, Elaine Finley and Lydia Ackerman, who laid the foundation for where we are today. As we continue to grow . . .
We are thrilled to welcome Ashby Kindler to our Board of Directors!
A UVA grad – twice – Ashby was a classmate of JoAnne’s at Langley High School in McLean. A 45-year resident of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Ashby spent 40 years in education as a principal at the elementary, middle & high school levels. She also worked with homeless, home schooled, home-bound students and their families throughout the area.
As a faculty member and consultant at the William Glasser Institute for Choice Theory, Ashby has been a trainer of both educators and counselors. She is the treasurer & former vestry at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, reading, gardening and local music. She’s the enthusiastic wife of Mark and mother of Brooke, Becka and Snowden.
In the spirit of “reopening” and UVA fan’s “Still Champs” mindset, we will finally be moving forward with our Coach Bennett-signed National Championship bench raffle. Additional details to follow soon!
A sincere thanks to everyone who has made Yellow Door a success, through some incredibly tough times!
