Meet Aubree

Aubree received a new heart 363 days after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy.

The Baer-Hart House opened its doors to three-year-old Aubree and her family in early December.  Aubree received her new heart 363 days after her dilated cardiomyopathy diagnosis.

Mom said, “It has been a rough year for the whole family with multiple ICU stays, differing answers and outlooks and a baby who didn’t have the stamina like she used to. Since receiving her new heart she has been thriving and healing better than anyone could expect. She is learning new words everyday, gaining more and more stamina and eating so much food her parents run to the store every other day! As her body continues to acclimate to its new norm and stave off rejection, there is nothing but great things in this little one’s future.”

“Yellow Door has been a soft landing place for us as we find a new normal so far from home. The apartment has been such a great place for Aubree to heal and get back to her sassy self. Having all the comforts of home, we are settling in nicely and enjoying watching her run around and play with her toys. We cannot put into words how grateful we are for this organization and its generosity of members and donor’s.”
