Meet Camren

Meet Camren, a kind and sports-loving 12-year-old who recently arrived at Starr Hill with his family. On September 10, 2025 Camren received the incredible gift of a new heart after doctors discovered heart problems following three unexpected strokes.

Now in recovery, Camren is settling into his cozy room — he says the corduroy is “super comfy!” — and spending time with his mom, while his siblings visit on weekends. When he’s not resting, you’ll probably find him talking about his favorite teams — the Miami Dolphins and the L.A. Lakers, especially LeBron James — or sharing that his favorite color is blue.

Camren’s courage, optimism, and easy smile bring light to everyone around him. He says, “Thank you for making Yellow Door possible. You’ve made a hard time feel a little brighter for me and my family.”

We’re so proud of Camren’s strength and spirit — and grateful to be part of his journey toward healing and home.
