Meet Emily
Emily stayed at UVA Children’s for seven weeks while be treated for severe Crohn’s disease.
Emily (12 years old) came to Yellow Door in January 2025 while being treated for Crohn’s Disease.
While she is a little outside our norm of cancer and transplant, her severe Crohn’s Diesease led to numerous surgeries and an extended hospital stay. With the family living over four hours away in SW Virginia, we opened the doors to The Dreamer Apartment to her family. Emily is scheduled to be released from the hospital and reunited with her family at the apartment for continued recovery.
