Meet Esperanza
This sweet baby needed a heart transplant from birth.
“Esperanza” means hope. And that is what her family had for her since the day she was born in January 2021. Esperanza was born needing a heart transplant. She waited weeks for one to become available. Her parents and older siblings traveled from Northern Virginia in May to the Baer-Hart House while Esperanza was cared for at UVA Children’s until she received a heart transplant in late June.
