Meet Lena
Lena’s journey to fight AML took her from UVA to CHOP in Philadelphia and back to UVA again.
Lena and her family were the first family to stay in Yellow Door’s fifth apartment “The Nest.” Fifteen year-old Lena stayed with Yellow Door in spring 2021 while undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). AML is a rare type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Her spunk and spirit is no match for AML.
