Meet Levi

Levi’s cancer returned just shy of his one year cancer free mark.

With heavy hearts, we remember Levi, a sweet and loving boy who touched so many lives in his five short years. Levi passed away on March 31, 2025 leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of boundless love.

Levi was only two years old when he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma. Through strength and courage, he battled his illness and experienced remission, but in March 2024, just before his fifth birthday, the cancer returned. He and his family came to Yellow Door, where he stayed at Tommy’s Place for close to nine months while undergoing treatment at UVA.

At Yellow Door, Levi’s spirit shined brightly. He could often be found riding his bike, playing with friends who came to visit, and sharing moments of joy and curiosity with our dear friend Lydia, who introduced him to the world of yellow canaries. Their special bond brought smiles to those around them, and we find comfort in knowing they are now reunited in heaven, continuing their study of those little birds.

Levi loved big and loved well. He was always expressing his love for his family, reminding them how much they meant to him. As his illness progressed, Levi’s family brought him home after the holidays to spend their remaining time together, surrounding him with love and warmth in the place he belonged most.

While our hearts ache at the loss of this beautiful soul, we take solace in knowing Levi is no longer in pain. His light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew him, and his love will continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, sweet Levi.
