Meet Lily Grace
Five-month old Lily and her family stayed with Yellow Door for 55 days after she received a new heart.
Hi, this is Ann Marie – Yellow Door Foundation Board Member. My husband Gerry, my siblings and I sponsor Rosie’s Place. Named in honor of my mom Rose, Rosie’s Place is our fourth apartment at Yellow Door. Today, Gerry and I met precious Lily and her family to bid them farewell, as they head back home after Lily’s heart transplant. It was our privilege to welcome them and provide them sanctuary in Rosie’s Place.
While staying at Rosie’s Place, Lily’s mom Jessie met with Sephida, former board member and fellow heart transplant mom, to share experiences in language only they can understand. The family stayed with Yellow Door for 55 days. Dad and big sister Maia would visit on the weekends. Maia found her comfy place on the corduroy beanbag chair in the apartment.
Mom updated Yellow Door in November 2021: Lily is [almost two years old and] doing amazing. She is truly a little firecracker haha. And she is also a big sister now! We had another little girl on august 30th. I think about you all and your organization often and how wonderful you were to us.
February 2023 Update:
“On February 3rd, we celebrated 3 wonderful and wild years with Lily Grace. She is a force to be reckoned with. Independent, hilarious, and sassy are the 3 best words to describe her. She loves playing with her sisters and eating all the snacks she can get her hands on. Lily is thriving and living her absolute best life. We are so thankful to raise her, watch her grow, and love her.”
