Meet Maverick
Maverick stayed with Yellow Door while undergoing treatment for Avcute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
Maverick is a spirited 4-year-old from the mountains of West Virginia who loves farm life, fishing, and leaping from hay bale to hay bale with his big brother. In early June 2025, Maverick was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), beginning a courageous journey toward healing. He’s traded in his mullet for hospital stays and treatment—but he hasn’t lost his big smile or love for adventure.
While receiving care, Maverick and his family are staying at Tommy’s Place, which gives them a comforting home away from home. Through it all, Maverick’s muddy boots and infectious grin continue to light up every room.
