Remembering Rylan
Rylan was brave, bright, and beautifully herself—every single day.
In May and June of 2025, Yellow Door had the privilege of welcoming Rylan Alexa French and her family into our family. At just 12 years old, Rylan was courageously battling DIPG, an aggressive form of brain cancer, with grace, humor and endless love for those around her.
Rylan was a bright and beautiful soul who adored her family and friends. She lived each day with joy and purpose—whether playing softball, perfecting her favorite makeup looks, writing and drawing, or listening to music that made her heart soar. One of the highlights of her summer was attending the Chris Stapleton concert, a memory that brought her so much happiness.
Her time with us was far too short, but she filled it with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments. Rylan had a way of making everyone feel special, always quick with a clever remark and always ready to be silly, kind and real.
Rylan passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her parents, Taylor and Katie; her siblings, Kora, Addison, and Eli; and her loyal dog, Honey—along with countless friends and loved ones who will carry her light forever.
💛 Please join us in sending love and prayers to the French family. We will never forget your special girl, Rylan.
