Meet Triston
Eight-year-old Triston suffered a heart attack and needed a heart transplant.
January 19, 2023 Update:
Hello and Greetings Yellow Door Family,
The Lloyd Family has been doing great and our Heart Warrior is constantly soaring to new heights as he continues to exceed the doctor’s goals. Since arriving home September 2022, we’ve celebrated his 9th birthday, and Triston has continued to do well in his school academics as he will remain a virtual student until the end of the current school year. He also continues in his physical therapy rehabilitation appointments, however, due to his determination to be just a little better than the day before, his outlook on continuing with PT has decreased and expecting to end treatment next month, February.
There are no limitations or restriction for him or his activities. Triston has recently returned to his swimming lessons at our local YMCA. He’s doing so well, that his swim instructor is considering putting him on the community junior swimmers swim team. He’s still learning to ride his new “big boy” bike, because when he tries to apply brakes with the peddles, they just freely spin backwards, lol. He’s slowly learning that the brakes are on the handlebars now. We thank you for ALL that you extended to our family during our son’s medical journey while in Charlottesville. The apartment and it’s amenities exceeded our expectations, which made it easy to call it HOME during our stay. We couldn’t have been blessed with a more welcoming and comforting sponsorship. THANK YOU! We are forever grateful and appreciative of your generosity and compassion.
Sincerely,
The LLOYD Family.
(Eric, Linda & Scoota a.k.a. Triston)
