Rosie’s Place

Opened in December 2019

Rosie’s Place was made possible by a donation from a former board member Ann Marie Gathright, husband Gerry and her four siblings in memory of their mother Rose LaBruno, a longtime Charlottesville advocate for children in need, who passed away in 2017.

Since opening its doors, Rosie’s Place has served as the home to 15 families. This one-bedroom, one-bath apartment home as been a welcoming space for families confronting severe pediatric illness in order to allow children an optimal environment in which to recover.

Helen is a 17 year old from Northern Virginia.  

Helen and her older brother are staying at Rosie’s Place while she is being treated for ovarian cancer.
