The Nest

Opened in March 2021

The Nest was our first 3-bedroom, 2-bath apartment situated in the corner overlooking one of the playgrounds at Stone Creek Village. The location is ideal. This amazing apartment was made possible through a generous anonymous donation made to the Yellow Door Foundation at the end of 2020.

The Nest opened its doors to its first family in April 2021. This larger apartment is perfect for families that travel to Charlottesville with siblings and grandparents that come to assist families during treatment. The Nest allows larger families more space to spread out while they heal together. It has been “home” to eight families since opening its doors.

Violet

Eight-year-old Violet is staying at the Nest with her parents, three younger brothers and grandma.

Violet’s family came from Farmville during her treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
