If These Walls Could Talk
Maggie’s House
Opened in September 2018
Formerly The VOGA Apartment, Maggie’s Place was renamed in 2024 to honor the memory of the catalyst for Yellow Door Foundation’s creation: Maggie. Maggie and her family were the first Yellow Door Family before we even had an apartment. They stayed with JoAnne and Jeff in their home. Witnessing the challenges parents face with a child requiring accute medial care, the toll it takes spending hours on end in the hospital and the middle of the night emergency hosital visits, just confirmed to JoAnne that Yellow Door would be filling a critcal need.
Sadly, we lost Maggie in early 2024 and the decision was made to rename this apartment in her memory. Since opening its doors, Maggie’s Place has served as the home for 24 families. It has seen its share of good news and bad news, celebrations, and family reunions. Through it all, it acts as a safe haven for both long and short recoveries.
