We are pleased to announce that The Yellow Door Foundation has opened its 4th apartment at Stone Creek Village! The apartment was made possible by the sponsorship donation of YDF Board member Ann Marie Gathright, her husband Gerry Kirkpatrick, and her four siblings. The apartment is called “Rosie’s Place” in honor of their mother Rose LaBruno, a longtime Charlottesville advocate for children in need, who passed away in 2017.
We’d like to thank our Partners – Perry Foundation Inc, Ceiling and Floor Shop, T.E.A.L. Construction, Immanuel Presbyterian Church of McLean, TMS Construction, Caring Transitions, Stone Creek Village Apartments and Crutchfield for their help in getting Rosie’s Place ready for its first family! Tomorrow, we will be welcoming a 6-year-old UVA Children’s Hospital patient, who received his new heart on Thanksgiving, his parents and two sisters!
CBS-19 in Charlottesville did a feature story on Rosie’s Place last Sunday! Thank you, Desiree! If you missed it, you can view it here.
Should you or anyone you know have an interest in sponsoring our 5th apartment to honor a loved one, please contact Executive Director JoAnne McTague @ 434-953-9123.
A sincere thanks to everyone who has made Yellow Door a success.
