Through the generosity of Parke and Coran Capshaw, we opened the doors to our 9th apartment, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath “home” on the hill with views of Carter’s Mountain.
Starr Hill welcomed its first family from Southwest Virginia in April 2025-a family with four children, awaiting the birth of their fifth child who would require life-saving heart surgery immediately after birth. This bigger apartment allows large families like this one to stay together and maintain as much normalcy as possible for the siblings. We are truly grateful to our sponsors-the Capshaws.

Tayson
Tayson’s family is calling Starr Hill “home” while they await his birth. Tayson will be the fifth child in his family when he makes arrival. Diagnosed with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, he will require life-saving surgery immediately after birth. The family came from southwest Virginia to ensure mom delivers at UVA Health.
His two big sisters, Bostyn (2) and Josie (3), are pictured left. He has two older brothers as well, Case (7) and Callen (6).
